Install WordPress

To install this theme you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. If you need help installing WordPress, follow the instructions here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Install Politika Theme

The first option how to install Politika WordPress Theme would be to directly upload the politika.zip file via WordPress Theme Uploader.

1. Log into your WordPress admin
2. Navigate to Appearance > Themes
3. Click Install Themes/Add Themes
4. Click Upload/Upload Themes
5. Now you just need to find the "politika.zip" from Downloaded package Politika Main Package > Uploads > politika.zip in the Upload folder and hit Install Now.
6. After Installed then click Active Now

Theme Install From FTP

1. Login to your FTP account and navigate to your WordPress Installation directory
2. Navigate to the folder /wp-content/themes
3. Upload the "Politika" folder from Downloaded package Politika Main Package > Uploads > Politika (not the .zip-file).
4. Now log into your WordPress backend
5. Navigate to Appearance > Themes
6. Find the Theme and click Activate

After installing the theme, you can see the notice below screenshot:

Now click on Begin Installing Plugins.

Put tick all the plugins and select the Install and click on Apply.

Now you can see the all installed plugins name and their installed message.

Finally, you put tick all plugins and click on Activate option individually or from Bulk Actions and click on Apply

Now you can see the plugins are activated and you will able to use theme.

If you want to setup WooCommerce. Please install following plugin:

To setup Newsletter subcription Please install following plugin:

• MailPoet Newsletters

The theme comes with a One Click Demo Import package. This package includes all posts, pages, comments, settings, image and so on.

Recommended PHP Settings

In order to avoid any possible import issues because of your server and php setings, we would recommend setting following PHP values in your server’s php.ini:

Memory Size: memory_limit = 256M
Script execution time: max_execution_time = 400
Number of input variables: max_input_vars = 4000

If you don’t have an access to the php configurtation on your server, you can try to set this values in .htaccess file:

php_value max_input_vars 4000
php_value max_execution_time 400
php_value memory_limit 256M

Please be careful, because some of hosting companies don’t allow to change php settings directly using .htaccess. In case you have some problems after modifying your .htaccess file, log in to your FTP account and remove these modifiactions from .htaccess

To import demo Data, you can follow these steps:

1. In WordPress Admin go to Appearance > Import Demo Data
2. Before clicking on the Import Demo Data button please make sure that all the required plugins are activated.
3. Now click on Import Demo Data button

These steps will take couple of minutes. Take some tea or coffee meanwhile.

Menu will be already set with one click demo import but if not you will have to set it by following these steps

1. In WordPress Admin go to Appearance > Menus
2. For Primary Menu -> Primary and click on "Save Changes".
3. For One Page Menu -> One Page and click on "Save Changes"

Homepage will be already selected with one click demo import but if not you will have to set it manually

Go to "Settings -> Reading", select a "Homepage" option to be displayed as your homepage. Also you can select your "Blog" page from here. Save your changes.

Politika has three cutom postes. "Campaings", "Members", and "Causes"

Widget will be already seted up with one click demo import but if not you will have to set it manually

Go to "Appearance -> Widget", You can choose any of widget here and if you want to used themes widget use "Politika:: Widgets"

Politika has an advanced admin panel for Theme Options, which gives you plenty of options and settings to customize your website.

In WordPress Admin go to Theme Options and you will get Politika admin panel. All settings are organized and have brief descriptions of what they do.

Things To Remember

• Always click on Save in order to make your settings take effect
• By clicking on Restore you can reset all your settings to the skin defaults
• You can always make a backup your settings by using Backup option in admin panel. So you can freely experiment with all of Politika options without having fear to loose some of them

Typography

To configure theme color and fonts choose options from Theme Options > Typography

Google Map

To configure google map insert google map API key to Theme Options > Google Map > Google Map API key. Get API Key

Politika has Page Options to config every single page individually. Create a new page and config it by following these steps.

1. Go to Dashboard and click on Pages > Add new
2. Write a title of your page into Title field. Example as : Home
3. Then use the short-codes which you want to display in this page
4. Config page from Politika Page Options. Switch ON Custom Page Settings and set necessary options
5. Switch ON/OFF page banner to enable/disable banner for this page from Banner Options and fill up necessary fields
6. Finally click on Publish button.

All of our Themes are able to be translated into any language. The process of translating the theme is a user responsibility. The following instructions are given as guidance.

1. In WordPress Admin go to Plugins > Add New
2. Search Loco Translate

3. Then Install and activate the plugin

4. In WordPress Admin go to Loco Translate > Home
5. Then you will find your activated theme. Click on your activated theme

6. To translate click on New Language

7. Choose your language from dropdown menu and press Start Translating button

8. Then you will find all the text which you can translate. Select your text and translate on your own language

Important info, regarding translation in WordPress.

1. In WordPress Admin go to Settings > General
2. Select your website langauge as shown in this screenshot:
